Trail Spotlight with Team Manager Justin Swett

July 29, 2012

Looking for a good sustainable climb and a fun decent to reward the grind up to the summit?  Try the Tahoe Rim trail from Brockway summit to the summit of Mt. Baldy at 9200ft for a round trip of 14 miles.  This is a fun ride that will give you a great workout, fun single-track and spectacular views of Lake Tahoe.

The single-track is gradual all the way up to the summit with smooth dirt to a few very technical rocky sections.  Based on a rider’s skill level, the technical sections are fully ride-able for a good challenge. For the novice rider, know your limits and walk your bike if you have to.

Best days to ride this trail is during the week days. Weekends tend to get heavy traffic during peak seasons of hikers, families, dogs and other bikers.  If you go out on a Saturday or Sunday be alert for people around blind corners on the descents and ride at a slow speed. Enjoy!
